How can my company get access to the logos?
To access Power.org's logos and trademarks, your company should take these steps:

1) Be a member of Power.org. The no-fee Developer membership qualifies.

After verifying that your company meets the membership, qualification and licensing criteria, the Power.org brand team will send you electronic art files for each logo you requested. Detailed guidance on this process is provided on the trademark license request page.

How do I submit the Power.org Trademark License Agreement?
The Power.org Trademark License Agreement may be executed either online or in hard copy by a representative authorized to enter into these types of contracts on behalf of your company. If your company prefers to return a paper version of the license agreement, please sign two copies and send it to

In addition to the requirements described in the Power.org Trademark License Agreement, Power.org has developed a set of brand and identity guidelines to help members determine how best to use the trademarks and logos in their companies' marketing and communication materials.

Who do I contact if I have a specific question about the brand system?
If you have questions about the brand system or want to use a logo in a way that may deviate from the brand and identity guidelines, please contact us.

Do I need to use the logos in accordance with the published brand and identity guidelines?
It is important to apply the trademarks licensed from Power.org consistently and correctly as this reinforces the value of the logos for the entire Power Architecture community. The trademarks should be used in accordance with the detailed guidelines provided by Power.org, though exceptions may sometimes be allowed by querying Power.org.

What are the guidelines for correct use of the Power Architecture™ wordmark?
Quick guide to proper trademark usage:

  • The ™ symbol should always follow the trademark during its first use in text within a document.
  • Trademarks are adjectives, not nouns. An appropriate noun should always follow a trademark term. Suggested nouns to use after "Power Architecture" include technology, platform, solutions and community.
  • The word "Power" isn't an appropriate shorthand reference for Power Architecture in written communications.
  • The Power Architecture name should never appear in all upper-case lettering (e.g., POWER Architecture) or lower-case lettering (e.g. power architecture).
  • The possessive case (i.e. Power Architecture's, Power's, Architecture's) should not be used.

What is happening to the PowerPC wordmark and logo?
The PowerPC wordmark, as referencing the PowerPC instruction set architecture (ISA) and products based on that ISA, will continue to exist. However, we encourage everyone to use the new Power Architecture trademark and the new logos to help establish a more consistent voice in the marketplace for the Power Architecture platform.

What is the correct trademark footnote for all logos and wordmarks licensed from Power.org?
The Power Architecture and Power.org wordmarks and the Power and Power.org logos and related marks are trademarks and service marks licensed by Power.org.

How do I report improper use of the trademarks?
Please report inappropriate or incorrect use of any mark or logo licensed by Power.org. We appreciate your help in fostering a strong, consistent brand identity for the Power Architecture community.
