2009 Power Architecture Conference series in Asia

Power.org brought back its highly successful Power Architecture® Conference series to Asia in October 2009. The ASIA PAC is focused exclusively on the versatile Power Architecture technology platform and its rich and vibrant ecosystem. Tutorials, solutions and offerings from members and sponsors will be presented and displayed. Attendance is free to qualified participants, but registration is required.

We will hold our annual members meeting at the Freescale facilities (7700 West Parmer Lane, Austin, TX) where we will gather to discuss as a community a set of proposed changes to help address many of the members' feedback and suggestions. These changes will represent the most significant and comprehensive set of reforms to be undertaken in our 3-year history.
Power Architecture Market Outlook by IDC

Power.org hosted a live web conference on the market outlook for Power Architecture processors with IDC's vice president of semiconductor research, Mario Morales. In this two-hour web conference, Mario presented IDC's perspectives on changing trends in embedded electronics and on new developments affecting the market outlook for Power Architecture processors in the coming years.

Press conference: Freescale Semiconductor joins Power.org

Power.org announced that Freescale Semiconductor has become a Founder-level member of Power.org. Freescale and IBM have also announced a multi-level collaboration, including the formation of the Power Architecture Advisory Council, which will oversee potential additions to the instruction set architecture.
Power.org VC Symposium

Power.org held its first investor community event. The symposium provided proof points for prospective investors in the Power.org community, as well as discussing the momentum behind Power.org among the VC community. At the event Power.org announced an advisory board of leading venture capitalists to lead its efforts in driving increased investment in Power-focused companies.
Power.org in academia: New series of seminars begins in Moscow

With the recent addition of three academic members, Power.org has announced a new series of technical seminars designed to bring the academic community into the discussion of Power. The first seminar will be held at the Joint Supercomputing Center (JSCC) in Moscow, Russia, on November 30th.
Power.org community conference in Shanghai

On September 27-28, Power.org will host its next community conference in Shanghai, China. The conference will focus on innovative Power Architecture concepts, as well as design tools and solutions for Power Architecture system-on-chip developers.
Power.org community conference in Barcelona

The first European Power.org Community Conference was hosted by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center at the Campus Nord of the Technical University of Catalonia in the City of Barcelona - site of the Mare Nostrum supercomputer, one of the top supercomputers in Europe based on the Top500 Supercomputer list.
