Power Night 2008: Power in Numbers

On April 16th, Power.org hosted 140 people from across the Power Architecture community at Power Night 2008, our third annual networking dinner during the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose.

Our featured guest speaker was James Surowiecki, a columnist for The New Yorker and author of "The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter than the Few and How Collective Wisdom Shapes Business, Economies, Societies and Nations." Mr. Surowiecki presented his theories on how large, diverse groups are more effective than the elite few at fostering innovation and making decisions that better serve an organization's goals. You may view below Mr. Surowiecki's speech.

Thanks to our generous sponsors - IBM, AMCC, Freescale Semiconductor, Virtutech, Denali Software and VaST Systems Technology - this year's Power Night networking dinner was held at San Jose's famed Tech Museum of Innovation, which opened its galleries for the exclusive, after-hours use of our guests.

Power.org has posted a video of Mr. Surowiecki's speech and presentation, which our Power Night guests rated very highly. Power.org members may view the video through this link.
