Technical Subcommittees and Technical Workgroups
A technical subcommittee (TSC) is an official workgroup formed to develop specifications and implementations. The Bylaws define the process for forming TSCs. A technical workgroup (TWG) is an informal ad-hoc group created by the Technical Committee to explore ideas prior to creating a formal TSC. TWG outputs include recommendations for creating a TSC, preliminary scopes of work for the TSC, and anticipated outputs of the TSC.
TSCs and TWGs operate according to the Technical Committee Policies and Procedures. TSC/TWG members should read the TC Policies and Procedures prior to participating in the group.
